Runic 'Orkney' Small Stud Earrings in 9ct Yellow Gold Enamel-Pentland This Mine Howe pendant necklaceThese small Runic stud earrings in classic 9ct yellow gold feature runic text on a curved golden design, each reading Orkney. The earrings are hand finished in our Orkney workshop. Sheilas iconic Runic collection was inspired by inscriptions found inside Maeshowe, a Neolithic chambered cairn in Orkney, built around 2800 BCE. Sometime around the 12th century, Vikings broke into the tomb and carved runes on the wallstheir version of modern day graffiti.
