1888 Chromolithograph Combs Hair Accessory Historical Design Bone Wood LCH3 XAIA1 Racing StripesThis is a rare original 1888 color chromolithograph which depicts a variety of combs from Europe that date back to the 12th, 15th and 16th centuries. The materials used to make combs varied from boxwood, bone and elephant tusk all the way up to decorative metals such as gold and silver. Inlays and carved designs were common, especially among combs in the possession of the upper classes, who could afford the craftsmanship which such luxuries required.
