Catalogue the first history of contemporaryChen Lemin (1930 2008) A renowned specialist in the comparative study of Chinese and European civilizations, Chen Lemin was director of the Institute of European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and president of the Chinese Association for European Studies. He learned traditional calligraphy and painting at a very young age, and also developed a passion for European languages and literature, which he studied at Peking University.
